Aswan - Egipte

My geliefde staan verlate in Soedan. / I had to leave the KLR in Sudan. That was bad. It is now on its way to Egypt.

Goeie naand!

Ek is in Egipte.

Daar was plek vir ongeveer 240 mense. 360 sou dus moes swem as iets sou gebeur het.

Ek moes my fiets agterlaat in Soedan.

Groete!

Good evening!

I arrived safely in Aswan.

The ferry trip was long, full, and the toilets were stinking holes.

I counted the places in the rescue boats. 240 could find a place, 360 not ...

We were more than 24 hours on board. Immigration and customs today took more than 5 hours! It was chaos.

I had to leave the KLR behind in Sudan. It is on the car pontoon on the way to Egypt now and should be in Egypt tomorrow. Due to the Egyptian custom speed I expect to have the bike on Sunday night or Monday.

Tonight a week ago I spent the night with the farmer family near the Nile. Tonight I am back in civilisation with restaurants, ice cream, cold beer and clean toilets. What a shock!

I am tired and am off to bed now.

Regards!
